Hi! I'm the art teacher, Ms. Bohannon! (I'm the one on the left, next to the paint palette.) I am so excited to help our PGE kiddos grow their brains by using their creativity! I believe all kids should experience art. Not to make them a better artist (although they may better their art skills), and not just to have fun and make a mess (of course fun and messes go together in the art room), but to grow that creative side of the brain that helps us think outside of the box. When we are creative, it helps us think better. When we think better, we solve problems better, and creative thinking is a valuable life skill.
I earned my Bachelors in Art degree at U of L and worked as a graphic designer before I went back to school to get my Masters in Education to become a teacher. I've taught all grade levels in Jefferson and Bullitt counties, but elementary is my favorite! I 've been married for 23 years and have two kiddos that are both at PGE. Our whole family loves Pleasant Grove Elementary-just ask us! Our special area teacher family loves PGE too, and what we do here is amazing! We are so blessed that you let us work with your kids and hope that you feel blessed as well to be a part of our big PGE family!
